The agreements include:
i) cooperation in exploration & use of outer space for peaceful purposes.
ii) protocol on Double taxation avoidance agreement
iii) Cooperation in UN peacekeeping operations,
iv) protocol between Vietnam and India on celebrating 2017 as The Year Of Friendship
v) MoU on Cooperation in the field of health
vi) MoU On Cooperation in Information Technology
vii) MoU between Vietnamese Academy of social science and Indian council of world affairs
viii) Mou on cooperation in the field of cyber security
ix) Mou Between BIS & STAMEQ for mutual recognition of standards,
x) Agreement for setting up a sustainable IT Infrastructure for advanced IT Training,
xi) Technical agreement on sharing white shipping information and
xii) Contact on L&T for Utilization of $ 100mn LoC for offshore petrol Boats.
• Delegation level talks were held between India and Vietnam in Hanoi. Defence, security, science and technology, trade and culture were some of the issues on the plate for the talks.
Earlier, PM Modi met his Vientnamese counterpart Nguyen Xuan Phuc and held bilateral talks. The wide-ranging talks with the top leadership are being held to deepen ties in key areas of defence, security and trade, and oil exploration.
The Prime Minister who is on his maiden visit to Vietnam, will also call on President Tran Dai Quang later in the day.
