Odisha govt to launch DAMAN programme for malaria control

  • The Odisha government has decided to launch a new malaria control programme DAMAN (Durgama Anchalare Malaria Nirakaran) with a total spending of Rs. 120 crore for five years.
  • The programme will be implemented in 8 thousand villages of all 79 blocks of eight high malaria endemic southern districts – Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangapur, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Gajapati, Nuapada and Kandhamal.
  • The programme will benefit around 80 lakh high-risk population of the State.
