Promotion of Schemes in Rural Areas

  • Ministry of Minority Affairs is promoting various schemes/programmes to create awareness among the target communities in the country including the rural areas.
  • Ministry runs Multi-Media campaign annually through Print and electronic Media including Doordarshan and All India Radio. Multi-media campaign with new video –audio spots are run on Doordarshan (including all Regional Kendras and North East Kendras), Private TV Channels and All India Radio including FM Channels. For publicity and awareness, the Pocket Booklets on Schemes and Achievements have also been published in Hindi, English, Urdu and other Regional languages.
  • New Pamphlets on various schemes/ programmes of the Ministry of Minority Affairs have been published in English, Hindi, Urdu and various vernacular languages.  Outdoor publicity is done in public places, Bus stops, Railway Stations, Roadsides, India International Trade Fair (IITF), Surajkund International Fair etc.
  • In addition to the above, the Ministry has also organized Progress Panchayats in Mewat & Palwal in Haryana & Udham Singh Nagar in Uttarakhand to create awareness in rural areas aboutvarious schemes run by the Ministry of Minority Affairs.

The details of persons benefited/funds allocated/spent including the state of Maharashtra under the following Schemes during the last three years and current are as follows:

(i)                 Pre-matric, Post-matric and Merit-cum-Means based Scholarship Schemes-Naya Savera – Free Coaching & Allied Scheme

(ii)               Maulana Azad National Fellowship Scheme (MANF)

(iii)             Maulana Azad Education Foundation (MAEF)

(iv)             Padho Pardesh – Interest Subsidy on Educational loans for overseas studies

(v)               Support for minority students clearing prelims conducted by UPSC/SSC/State PSCs etc.

(vi)             Seekho aur Kamao

(vii)           Nai Roshni

(viii)         MsDP
